UVC Experience in High Voltage above 1kV

High voltage engineering is a harsh and unforgiving discipline. It absolutely demands manufacturing competence and detailed awareness of the unusual properties of high-potential circuits and physical layout. In all three areas, the old engineers’ dictum "It's a different world above 1 kV" applies.

Reliable high voltage engineering solutions don't come out of design cookbooks. Products that work under real-world conditions demand extensive hands-on experience with high voltage components, packaging, heat dissipation and thermal management. At elevated power levels, insulators become conductors, voltages find new paths, and different rules apply. Even the selection of what are normally thought of as "simple" components, enclosures, connectors and even fasteners, becomes critical.

The enormous experience of UVC’s design teams makes Universal Voltronics power supplies more stable under variable loads. They are better protected against arc and short circuit conditions, and they are less susceptible to output ripple or instability as a result of EMI. And because of their low stored energy levels, UVC designs are better behaved if the worst should occur.
