Co-Linear Engineering: Working Together, for Better Results
In traditional electronic product design, vendors for subassemblies often become involved after all key specifications have been frozen.
Co-linear Engineering is UVC's contribution to the process of electronic product development. Derived from the automobile industry-- where hundreds of vendors must work together seamlessly for 2-4 years to produce a finished product-- co-linear is also sometimes called "parallel engineering."
Co-Linear Engineering is based on the simple principle-whenever feasible-- of involving UVC at the early and intermediate phases of new-product development, in order to achieve the swiftest, smoothest, and least costly product development sequence.
In this way, Co-Linear Engineering can bring three key advantages to the table:
